This old, old, old necklace has a mix of glass beads and pretty, lacey filigree. I haven’t worn it in years and forgot how much I liked it.

8 JulThis necklace is a whopper. Gigantic resin beads strung on red leather with a single, blown-glass Venetian bead off-center.
Yummy. I love giant necklaces like this. Very Wilma Flinstone.
Not very Wilma; the bra and slip straps showing with this sundress.
Don’t worry, I wore a tasteful cardigan over it to work. For photographic purposes I ditched the cardi and now, looking a the tell-tale straps I am regretting that decision. This necklace, however, I will never regret.

22 JunA lariat; #8 silk knotted occasionally between vintage glass, seed pearls, very old Bali. Finished with a hollow-blown stripey bead on one end and a hunk of smokey quartz on the other.
That’s my friend, Beth, in the background. She didn’t believe I was going to use a mirror to take a picture of myself.

18 MayFaceted glass beads, 10 mm, in smokey gray. The color is called Black Diamond, I think.
That’s copper wire and a copper jump ring.
I think I must have made about 500 of this exact necklace.
It was one of my biggest sellers.
Adjustable closure with a hook and extender chain, from 14-17 inches.
I used to wear it way up there, like a choker. Now I prefer it a bit longer.
I think I will write this project up for ornamentea.com.

14 MayA busy day of school activities and outdoor events at work. I wore this two-strand necklace with a purple cotton dress that is cool and easy.
The necklace uses a bead-wrapped end bar as a center bar to hold the carved bone focal bead. The double strands are coral and brown glass beads.
I made this for Bedizen years ago and it was quite popular if I remember correctly.
